Blitz Races are timed races where the player has to race against the clock, in the style of time trials. The goal is to pass through all the Checkpoints (in any order) as well as the Finish Line before time runs out.

Midtown Madness[]
Players will race through three checkpoints in charted courses and landmarks throughout the city and then cross the Finish Line before time runs out. Players start with the amount of time needed to finish the race rather than start at 0 like with Checkpoint Races and Circuit Races, and the clock counts down. The green arrow above the car will guide the player through each checkpoint. There will be a fixed number of traffic, pedestrians, and cops (racing as a Pro) in each race and they get harder as the player progresses. Weather and Time of Day are also fixed, and can heavily affect the race difficulty. These customizations can be unlocked for the race after the player wins that race. The player can also reduce the number of checkpoints.

Midtown Madness 2[]
In Midtown Madness 2, there are Blitz races that take place in the game's main locations, San Francisco and London. There are a total of 20 Blitz events, with 10 in each of the two cities. The number of checkpoints are varied rather than set to only three, the original blitz concept in the previous Midtown Madness game.
